Dr. Suma Sudhindra is the foremost exponent of the veena of her generation of musicians. Trained under veena maestros Raja Rao and Chitti Babu, she has blended classical conservatism with the spirit of dynamic innovation. Her own innovation: the Tarangini Veena has created tremendous impact in music circles.
She brings the inspirational quality of veena music to audiences through both her mastery and mystery as a musician of profound talent and scholarship. Professor Mysore Nagamani Srinath is a multi-talented musician who has held centrestage in Karnatic music for more than three decades. Having been under the direct tutelage of Ramnad krishnan and many other music maestros, her musical articulation has the magnetic appeal, charm and emotional richness to strike a chord with both the connoisseur and the commoner.
As composer, she has enriched the tradition with new nuances, and has received numerous prestigious awards and citations, including the Rajyotsava Award - the highest in the state of Karnataka.
As Professor of Music at Bangalore University, she is rare gem among contemporary musicians, possessing a deep insight into the facets of music by virtue of her prowess as an astute grammarian.
She has inspired a whole new generation of artistes with her profound knowledge and training. Presently, she devotes most of her time promulgating the glory of Karnatic music through concerts, workshops, features and lecture demonstrations.
