Navarathri 2009
Propitiating the Divine Mother in her three beautiful forms of Lakshmi, Durga and Saraswathi
19th - 28th September 2009
At The Temple of Fine Arts, this nine-day festival of dance and music brings on colour and excitement to the entire school with students preparing arduously to make their love offerings of song and dance to the Divine Mother. It is also during this festival that many will fast, do intense practice, learning something new and make a new resolve to improve. Many will make personal vows and find that their efforts are rewarded by the Divine Mother. It is also during this time, that all realise that we are her beloved children, and this gives every student a beautiful opportunity to renew and remember their spiritual bonds with the Divine Mother.
For the entire festival, poojas are conducted at 5.30 am - 7.00 am / 11.30 am - 12 noon / 5.00 pm - 6.00 pm, observing the three sandhyas of dawn, noon and dusk.
Music and dance offerings by students commence after the evening pooja. Each evening concludes with an arathi.
